 Registration Now Open for the Affiliate Leadership Breakfast

Please join UnidosUS and its Affiliate Council at the 2019 Affiliate Leadership Breakfast (ALB) which will be held in San Diego, CA on Tuesday, August 6, 2019 as part of the 2019 UnidosUS Annual Conference. The breakfast is a high-level forum on issues of relevance for Affiliate Executive Directors, and their senior leadership and Board members, and provides a dedicated Affiliate-only space to identify ways to strategize with other UnidosUS Affiliate Network organizations. 

Space is Limited:  Your UnidosUS Conference registration does not confirm your registration to the Affiliate Leadership Breakfast and separate registration is required. Please reserve your spot right away and plan to arrive by 8:30am. Affiliates will need to log-in to the Affiliate portal using the CEO/Executive Director’s e-mail to register.

 Scholarship Opportunity: ExxonMobil Engineering Scholarship

Sponsored by Exxon Mobil Corporation, The LULAC National Education Service Centers (LNESC) will award one (1) national scholarship of $20,000 (paid over four years), and twelve (12) $2,000 local scholarships to qualified Latino high schools seniors who plan to pursue a degree in engineering at U.S pose-secondary institutions.

UnidosUS Wraps Up Pride Month with a Toolkit for Welcoming LGBTQ Youth. At UnidosUS, we believe that LGBTQ youth are capable, resilient, and an asset to their communities, and this toolkit was developed to ensure that Affiliates and other youth-serving organizations have the resources to effectively welcome all young people,” says Maria Moser, Senior Director of Teaching and Learning. “ALAS I: Welcoming LGBTQ Youth is an important step in creating inclusive programs, spaces, and schools, and we look forward to sharing these resources with our Affiliates and partners.” Read more about it here!

Report Released - The Future of Banking: Overcoming Barriers to Financial Inclusion for Communities of Color

UnidosUS and PolicyLink have released a joint research report, The Future of Banking: Overcoming Barriers to Financial Inclusion for Communities of Color. Focus groups were instrumental, in addition to focus groups with UnidosUS Affiliates, we also held them with National Urban League chapters and National CAPACD affiliates in Philadelphia, Chicago, Los Angeles and San Diego. Interviews were conducted with policy experts, regulators and representatives from the financial services sector.

 La Tiendita is a culturally appealing and low literacy bilingual handout that can help individuals with pre-diabetes make better food choices when they walk into the corner store, or La Tiendita. The handout was developed by the National Center for Farmworker Health, in collaboration with American Association of Diabetes Educators (AADE) and UnidosUS.
