Call for Entries: LGBTQ Champion Award

Will you help us promote the LGBTQ Champion Award and the Health Award opportunities on the portal?

UnidosUS is accepting submission for the LGBTQ Champion Award which recognizes an UnidosUS Affiliate organization with exceptional leadership and a commitment to the LGBTQ community. The award includes a $1,000 cash award and a special recognition during the LGBTQ Reception at the UnidosUS Annual Conference in San Diego August 3-6.  Submissions are due May 28, 2019. 


To apply, the organization must meet all of the following criteria:

  • Be registered to attend the 2019 UnidosUS Conference
  • Have been an UnidosUS Affiliate for at least 18 months (please provide Affiliate ID number).
  • Be in good standing with dues, partnership fees, and recertification requirements.
  • Be cobranding with UnidosUS (UnidosUS Affiliate logo on website and/or UnidosUS Decal at physical sight and/or UnidosUS reception sign, etc)
  • Documented improvements in making qualitative and/or quantitative impact in the LGBTQ community in at least two (2) of the following areas:

Upon closing, all eligible applications will be reviewed by a panel of UnidosUS staff.  Applications will be judged based on how well entries meet the award criteria.  One finalist will be selected. You can access the 2019 application here:


Call for Entries: The Helen Rodríguez-Trías Health Award, Deadline is May 28th

The award recognizes UnidosUS Affiliate organizations with exceptional leadership and a commitment to advancing health equity and improving the health and well-being of Latinos through the implementation of strategies and practices within local communities. Organizations that have worked to transform local systems and programs through culturally relevant approaches are encouraged to apply. 

The award includes a $5,000 cash prize that will be presented at the Helen Rodríguez-Trías Award Reception, as part of the 2019 UnidosUS Annual Conference to be held August 3-6 in San Diego, CA.   How to apply and more details available here.



Education RFP: Cultura, Aprendizaje, Servicio, and Acción (CASA) – Deadline is May 29, 2019

We invite you to learn more about the CASA Request for Proposal that is now open! CASA is a culturally relevant service-learning program where middle school students gain soft skills by creating a project that identifies a genuine need in their community. Education RFP: CASA Code Deadline is May 29, 2019

CASA Code aims to increase student awareness and aptitudes in computer science through culturally-competent program sessions that introduce service learning through a technology lens. The curriculum is designed for implementation with middle school students who, because of academic, financial or other reasons, may not be exposed to coding without intervention and additional support. Characteristics of the target population may include youth who are: Latino, low-income, first-generation college students, and English Learners (ELs).

Education RFP: Entre Mujeres Program is Currently Accepting Proposals – Deadline to Submit Request is June 5th

Entre Mujeres program seeks to empower Latina high schoolers to recognize their personal worth, strengthen their leadership abilities and self-confidence, and help drive them to make change in their communities and beyond. UnidosUS Nose Heros Photo Contest & Raffle Winner Selected May 23rd!

It's that time of year again where Red Nose Day is upon us! Red Nose Day is a national fundraising campaign to end child poverty in America and around the world, and UnidosUS is the only Latino grantee partner. Funds raised from this campaign help support UnidosUS’s Healthy and Ready for the Future initiative which – along with eight Affiliates – provides oral and behavioral health care services for Latino children, especially those from migrant and seasonal farmworker families, across rural America. We invite you to help us spread the word by participating in our #UnidosNoseHeroes photo contest and raffle

How does your organization participate?

Head to your local Walgreens and purchase an Everyday Heroes Red Nose for just $2. There are five to collect – Red, Rusty, Scarlet, Rojo and Ruby and each has a special power to help end child poverty! Gather your colleagues and take a picture with your Red Noses and then share your photo(s) on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram from your official Affiliate handle using the hashtags #UnidosNoseHeroes and #NosesOn. Each post will count as one entry. You may have up to 5 entries. The more you post, the better your chances for winning the raffle!
