Join a National Strategy Call on Citizenship Co-hosted by UnidosUS and New Americans April 25 at 2pm EST

The National Partnership for New Americans & UnidosUS invite you to:

A National Strategy Call on Citizenship and the Second Wall with special guest Rep Jesus "Chuy" Garcia (IL-04)

Thursday, Apr 25th, 2 PM ET/ 1 PM CT/ 11 AM PT

Call-in 712-770-5505; Access Code: 807827#

The next few months will be critical to how legislators, policy experts and the field responds to the Trump administration's numerous--and often insidious--attacks on U.S. citizenship. Citizenship processing delays are so long that a growing number of applicants risk not being naturalized in time to register and vote in 2020. A proposed rule restricting access to the fee waiver will potentially shut out hundreds of thousands of elderly and working poor immigrants from attaining citizenship. USCIS has also proposed a regulation making the N-400 naturalization form more burdensome and is undertaking a fee study that will likely increase the citizenship fee. With every passing day comes new attacks on citizenship from the current administration and a growing number of our immigrant family and friends are finding it more difficult to naturalize and being denied full participation in our democracy. Please join us to discuss with other key stakeholders the spate of attacks on citizenship, the work folks are engaged in, communications strategies and how to coordinate our efforts nationally to tear down the Second Wall and ensure that as many eligible immigrants and refugees apply for citizenship as possible.
