The 2018 Annual Conference brought us to the nation’s capital for a special 50th Anniversary Celebration. This year’s Conference included workshops, plenary sessions, and the National Latino Family Expo which created a space for families in Washington D.C. to access resources and engage civically.

UnidosUS Affiliates partner with UnidosUS economic policy staff at the Annual Conference in Washington D.C.

UnidosUS economic policy staff & Affiliates met with federal regulators to discuss issues central to the economic stability of the Latino community. Affiliates representing communities from California, Oregon, Illinois, and Florida joined UnidosUS to speak to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), and the three prudential bank regulators: the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), the Federal Reserve Board of Governors, and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC).

Affiliates spoke to the needs of their communities in accessing safe and affordable financial products, and the ways in which regulators should be responding to their needs. They shared concerning trends and mortgage servicing practices carried out by specific financial companies that are regulated and supervised by the OCC, Federal Reserve and the FDIC.
