Red Nose Day USA – May 24, 2018

Red Nose Day is all about making it fun to come together to raise money and awareness for children who need our help most, in America, and around the world. Red Nose Day’s mission is to end child poverty—one nose at a time. This year, Red Nose Day is on May 24. Funds raised through Red Nose Day help support UnidosUS’s Healthy and Ready for the Future initiative, which provides oral health and oral health education to Latino children in rural areas, especially children of migrant and seasonal farmworker families.

You can help support thousands of kids by purchasing a red nose for $1 at Walgreens Pharmacy. You can also learn more about Red Nose Day by visiting their website. Don’t forget to tune in to the Red Nose Day Special on NBC on May 24 at 8:00 p.m. ET.

UnidosUS Applauds the Defeat of Farm Bill that Would Have Harmed Millions of Latino Families

Last week the U.S. House of Representatives rejected H.R. 2, the Agriculture and Nutrition Act of 2018 (the Farm Bill), legislation that would have severely undermined the health and economic security of millions of hardworking Americans, including Latinos. UnidosUS’s fight against the proposed Farm Bill included outreach to legislators, as well as public outreach explaining the potential harm Latinos could face if it passed.
