The Future of Health Begins with You - Join All of US!

UnidosUS joined the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in launching the All of Us Research Program to advance precision medicine. This past Sunday, May 6, the National Institutes of Health opened national enrollment for the All of Us Research Program—a momentous effort to advance individualized prevention, treatment and care for people of all backgrounds—in collaboration with UnidosUS and other partners The overall aim is to enroll 1 million or more volunteers and oversample communities that have been underrepresented in research to make the program the largest, most diverse resource of its kind.

As a community influencer, UnidosUS will highlight local efforts about this important work both in English and Spanish. We will host an educational session at our annual meeting and also have a Journey Van at the 2018 National Latino Family Expo, so please be sure to join us in Washington, DC from July 7 - 10.  If you are interested in being part of this national work, please contact Rita Carreon at

UnidosUS and the American Hospital Association Launch a New Alliance

Watch Janet Murguía and RIck Pollack Announce New Alliance

Through a new strategic alliance between UnidosUS and the American Hospital Association (AHA) and its Affiliate partners, we will bring concrete experience and leadership to ensure that health care evolves to address changing community needs.  This means that our alliance will help hospitals and health systems provide care and services that are linguistically and culturally appropriate for the Latino population.  More effective care means healthier communities and that’s good for everyone.

We’ll work together in three ways:

  • Increase diversity within governance by connecting UnidosUS leaders with health care CEOs to create opportunities to serve on the boards of AHA member hospitals or health systems.
  • AHA will participate in UnidosUS’ advisory committee to help promote a culture of health for Latinos through a grant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.  This important initiative will foster healthy communities and advance health equity among Latinos, and AHA will be part of the national team promoting this work
  • We will unite to find shared solutions, particularly around youth violence prevention and post-trauma support for communities, identifying lessons learned, scalable programs and other methods that advance health in America.

Working together, we can more effectively solve today’s challenges using our nation’s diversity as a strength and achieve better futures by focusing on the values we all share.  For more information, please contact Rita Carreón at
