Affiliate Leadership Session (For Affiliate Executive Directors, Board Members and Affiliate leadership)

Wednesday March 21st, 9am - Noon

We are excited to share with you the topics for this year’s Affiliate Leadership Session that were selected based on Affiliate input and feedback:

Overview of US Midterm Election Dynamics and Strategies to Increase Latino participation

To provide insight on the midterm election landscape and discuss strategies to increase Latino registration and participation, Affiliates will join in conversation with representatives and field experts to bolster more civic engagement within our communities.

Integrating Advocacy for Social Change into Nonprofits

The Building Movement Project will facilitate a 90-minute workshop with UnidosUS Affiliate leaders on how organizations that provide needed services in communities can also integrate social change principles, advocacy tactics and constituent engagement practices into their everyday work. Through a mix of discussion, participatory activities, and the introduction of conceptual frameworks, workshop attendees will gain tools to apply to their own work, and build connections to also support each other in sustaining organizational change processes. By conducting organizational assessments and sharing specific strategies to gain Board Member buy-in, we will map out opportunities for social change.

We are working to finalize details, but hope you register today and not miss out on these important conversations leading up to the midterm elections.

UnidosUS Welcomes Seven New Affiliates

We are pleased to announce that seven organizations were approved by the UnidosUS Board of Directors at their meeting earlier this month.  Please find the following press releases announcing these new Affiliates: Available here in English and  Spanish).

Below is the listing of the new UnidosUS Affiliates:

If you have partners that you believe would be a good fit to join the UnidosUS Network, please share our  Affiliation Eligibility Wizard to determine if the organization is eligible for Affiliation. The next application deadline is Friday, April 20, 2018.

Deadline Approaching: Affiliate Co-branding Questionnaire (Due February 23, 2018)

This fall, we shared many examples of how Affiliates can join us in lifting a unified voice for the Latino community by engaging in our co-branding efforts. The following questionnaire will help us evaluate where the UnidosUS Affiliate network is at meeting the goals we shared last fall. We do not expect that all Affiliates will meet all the co-branding examples we shared with you, rather your participation will help us determine what barriers remain and help measure progress towards goals.

Click here to complete the questionnaire.

First Opportunity Drawing (Winners will be pulled from questionnaires submitted from now until February 23, 2018):

  • For your participation in this questionnaire, your agency will be entered into an opportunity drawing to win (1) $500 stipend and (2) UnidosUS 2017 Conference registrations.
  • Only one questionnaire per agency will be accepted. Please designate one staff member to complete the questionnaire. We will take the first entry from your agency as the official entry for the first drawing.

The first drawing will take place on February 23, 2018. The first round of winners will be notified March 9, 2018. Read the complete rules here.
